Unifor Local 672 & Local 848 Donation

By City Staff

A generous donation has been provided by the members of Unifor Local 672 and Unifor Local 848 for the purchase and installation of surveillance cameras for Canatara Park.

This donation was gifted after extensive green space damage was willfully inflicted at Canatara Park and Mike Weir Park in April.

Surveillance cameras will be installed in consultation with Sarnia Police Service in order to maximize crime prevention.

“The City of Sarnia is grateful for Unifor Local 672 and Unifor Local 848’s donation to help keep Canatara Park safe for residents and visitors to enjoy,” explains Rob Harwood, Director, Parks and Recreation.

Unifor members expressed their pride in our community and felt compelled to show their support of our local parks.
