Notice of Closed Meeting – December 17, 2018

Notice is being given of a Closed Meeting of Sarnia City Council to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 in Committee Room #2, Sarnia City Hall. Under sections 239 (2) (b), (c), and (h) of the Municipal Act, consideration will be given to the following items:

  • A personal matter about an identifiable individual.
  • Personal matters about identifiable individuals with respect to citizen appointments to boards and committees.
  • A proposed disposition of land by the municipality.
  • Information explicitly supplied in confidence to the municipality by the Government of Canada with respect to a grant application.




NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Sarnia proposes, at its meeting to be held at City Hall on December 17th, 2018, to declare surplus and to consider a By-Law to Sell a 13.72 m x 15.24 m (45’ x 50’) portion of 1500 Lecaron Avenue to the adjacent owner of 1498 Lecaron Avenue, Sarnia.

Public Input and Grants Session Rescheduled

The Public Input and Grants Session scheduled for Monday, November 19, 2018 has been moved to Monday, December 17, 2018 in the Council Chambers, Sarnia City Hall, at 5:00 pm.  Any citizen, group or organization who wishes to make a presentation on the 2019 Budget is requested to notify the City Clerk’s office on or before noon, Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Citizens, groups or organizations wishing to be heard by Council, or written submissions, please register with Amy Burkhart, City Clerk’s Dept. by email to amy.burkhart@sarnia.ca, in person or telephone 519-332-0527 ext. 3263 or by mail to 255 Christina Street North, Sarnia, Ontario, N7T 7N2.

Any person who wishes to address Council at the Public Input and Grants Session Meeting in regards to the proposed draft budget, and who has not previously registered with the Clerk, will be given an opportunity to register with staff up to 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting and will be limited for a maximum of five minutes.


2019 Budget Deliberations Meeting Postponed

The 2019 Budget Deliberations meeting which was scheduled for Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 9:00am has been postponed until January, 2019. The new date for the 2019 Budget Deliberations meeting will be determined by the incoming Council, and will be announced in mid-December.
