Draft Adopt-A-Park or Trail Policy

Sarnia City Council will consider the adoption of an Adopt-A-Park or Trail Policy for the City of Sarnia at its meeting to be held at City Hall on September 10, 2018.

The policy outlines guidelines and procedures that allow for the provision of an Adopt-A-Park or Trail program within parks and trails owned and maintained by the City of Sarnia.

Copies of the proposed policy are available at the City’s public input webpage parksandrec.smartsarnia.com and at the City Parks and Recreation Department, City Hall.

Sarnia City Council will consider the adoption of a Playground Development/Equipment Replacement: Community Partnership and Funding Policy for the City of Sarnia at its meeting to be held at City Hall on September 10, 2018.

The policy outlines guidelines and parameters for the development and installation of new playground equipment and or replacement equipment within City of Sarnia neighborhood and community parks.

The City of Sarnia wants your input on the development of an intercity bus service.  In collaboration with Strathroy-Caradoc and London, we have received a provincial grant of $1.45M to be used over 5 years to implement a bus service.  You can provide your input by completing the survey on the Engineering Department page at www.smartsarnia.com or come fill out the survey at the public information session:

RESERVE AND RESERVE FUND POLICY

Notice is hereby given that Sarnia City Council, at its regular meeting to be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 starting at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, will consider the adoption of a Reserve and Reserve Fund Policy for the City of Sarnia.

The purpose of the Reserve and Reserve Fund Policy is to ensure the ongoing financial stability of the City by setting aside monies for the long term goals of the municipality and ensuring that those funds will be available when needed.  The Policy is intended to establish consistent standards, which will assist in the development, maintenance, and use of Reserves and Reserve Funds in a responsible and consistent manner.

Municipal and School Board Nomination Period

Nominations for Council and school board trustees will open on May 1 at 9:00 am and close on July 27 at 2:00 pm. Nomination papers must be filed by the candidate or their agent at the Clerk’s Department, 2nd Floor, Sarnia City Hall.
