Sarnia Heritage Committee - Draft By-law and Terms of Reference
The Sarnia Heritage Committee is an appointed committee of Council which advises and assists City Council, municipal staff and the community on cultural heritage conservation matters.
Planning Staff have prepared a proposed Heritage Committee By-law and Terms of Reference to govern the appointment, mandate and duties of this Committee. The proposed By-law and Terms of Reference are provided below and would replace By-law 14 of 1991 of the City of Sarnia-Clearwater. The By-law would include updates that reflect current Ontario Heritage Act terminologies and the legislative and regulatory responsibilities of a municipal heritage committee under the Act. In addition, the proposed by-law would reflect current City committee appointment durations and reference applicable policies and procedures including the Council adopted Code of Conduct.
Please review the attached and provide any comments to the City Planning Division by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by writing to: Planning and Building Department, 255 N. Christina Street, PO Box 3018, Sarnia ON, N7T 7N2 Comments are requested by Monday, January 23, 2016 to allow Planning Staff to consider include them in a final report for Council consideration at the February 6, 2017 Sarnia City Council meeting.
