Facilities
The Bandshell at Canatara Park is located at the west end of the lake parking lots, just south of the Beach Picnic Area. Somewhat protected by the dunes, the Bandshell offers an ideal venue for local groups and special events. Access to a limited power supply is available and the open space allows for blanket seating of approximately 500. Groups requesting use of the Bandshell are required to submit their request, in writing, to the Parks and Recreation Department for approval. The request should indicate specific details of their proposed use such as the type of activity, times, and any special requests.
Due to the popularity of the park and the adjacent picnic shelter, the bandshell is restricted on weekends only to special events and is not available any time when the picnic shelter is scheduled for use.
The facility may be used for purposes as deemed suitable by the Director of Parks and Recreation and additional approvals may be required subject to the activity.
