Councillor Andy Bruziewicz
Andy Bruziewicz was born August, 8, 1953 in Pinczow, Poland and has resided in Sarnia since October 1974. Councillor Bruziewicz was first elected to City Council in November 1994, and was re-elected in November 1997. Councillor Bruziewicz served on the Sarnia Hydro-electric Commission from 1986 to 1991 in every capacity including chairman, vice-chairman and commissioner. He also served on the finance committee of the provincial Municipal Electric Association for three years. He is a past president of Western Investment Clubs Association.
He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology. He also attended the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Cracow, Poland.
He is a past employee of the Research Department of Imperial Oil Limited, and is currently involved in translating services and investing activities.
Councillor Bruziewicz enjoys being an active volunteer with local charities such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society. He is a chess expert and for the past decade has been the vice-president of the Sarnia Chess Club.
