The City of Sarnia is pleased to offer careers in firefighting. Fire Fighting is a demanding profession that carries considerable responsibility to provide preservation of life, property and the environment.
Fire Fighters respond to fire suppressions and emergencies involving hazardous materials, high angle rescue, medical assists, water and ice rescue, and auto extrications. Fire Fighters are also involved with fire safety, fire prevention, and public education duties. Excellent listening and communication skills
are essential.
Satisfaction is derived from helping others, working closely in a team environment, and working in a challenging profession.
