FDRiskWatch

RiskWatch is a comprehensive injury prevention program that is taught to children in the elementary schools, that have teachers who have chosen to utilize this curriculum based grade-specific program. 

RiskWatch is an injury prevention program that was put together by the National Fire Safety Program (NFPA).  the focus of this safety program is to teach injury prevention to the eight areas that are injuring and killing a staggering number of North American chldren less than 14 years of age. 

The areas of Motor Vehicle safety, Fire and Burn Prevention, Firearms Injury Prevention, Bike and Pedestrian safety, and Water safety.  In Sarnia we have 12 elementary schools that hafe teachers utilizing the Risk Watch curriculum in these elementary schools.  The plan is to have all of the elementary schools using RiskWatch by the 2006 school year.
