Agendas for regular meetings are available on the Friday prior to the meeting, in the Clerk's Department, 2nd Floor, City Hall, on this web site and at the Sarnia Public Library.
Anyone wishing to address Council must contact the City Clerk's office at 519 332 0330 extension 263, TTY: 519 332 2664 to announce her/his intention. This enables the Clerk's office to arrange for all required parties to be notified and for reports to be prepared by staff, if required.
Any person desiring to address Council must file with the Clerk a letter or brief outlining his/her proposal or request. A written request to address Council, along with any written material to be distributed to Council, must be submitted to the City Clerk no later than noon on the Wednesday prior to the Council meeting in order to be considered. The Clerk or Mayor may request additional information from the delegate, if it is deemed necessary, in order to give Council a clear understanding of the issue to be discussed. Presentations are limited to no more than 10 minutes.
The proceedings of Council are governed by a Procedure by-law which is adopted by Council and sets out the process for meetings and governs the activities of the members. A copy of the by-law is posted in our By-laws section of the web site and may be viewed by clicking on Procedure by-law now.
All regular meetings of Council commence at 4:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted and are held in the Council Chambers, main floor, City Hall. See Council Meeting schedule for dates of upcoming Council Meetings.
