PLAY SAFE IN OUR PARKS

Committee’s are formed consisting of City Staff and neighbourhood volunteers and service clubs who come together to make park improvements including purchase of play equipment, lighting and signage.  To date, over a dozen park committees have formed and have fund-raised in excess of $500,000 for the installment of play units throughout Sarnia.  For further information please contact 519 332 0330 extension 210, or TTY: 519 332 2664.

The Lighthouse Academy (formerly St. Joseph’s School) and the City of Sarnia have partnered to make park improvements. The improvements will include new play equipment, safety surfacing, landscaping and so on. The park commitee has been busy fundraising for a new children's play unit. They are very close to reaching their goal and will be selecting their play unit in the Fall of 2009.

CARING FOR YOUR PARKS

This is a reminder to residents of Sarnia to keep an eye on our parks.  Please report any vandalism or arson that you witness to the Police Department.  Please report any damaged equipment to the Parks Department at 519 332 0330 extension 217.  Vandalism and arson cost you, the taxpayers, thousands of dollars each year.

For any information on the above projects, please contact Shelley Erwin at City Hall at 519 332 0330 extension 210, or email serwin@sarnia.ca
