Woodworking Shop Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00a.m. until 12:00noon and 1:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. For the months of June, July, and August, the Woodworking Shop hours are by appointment only. Please call the Strangway Centre to make an appointment
The Strangway Woodworking Shop is located behind the Strangway Community Centre on the north side of the building. A small parking lot which can accommodate eight cars is situated in front of the Woodworking Shop with additional parking available in the Centre’s parking lot.
This 30 ft by 40 ft building boasts a wide variety of woodworking equipment:
- 2 band saws
- 2 table saws
- 2 wood lathes
- 2 drill presses
- 3 scroll saws
- 2 planers
- A large assortment of small hand tools.
Woodworking Shop members work on an assortment of personal and other projects with several items being sold through the Strangway office. If you have an interest in woodworking, stop by the Strangway Centre. We will be happy to show you around and give you information.
Woodworking Shop Fees:
- $4.50 per use, morning or afternoon (9:00 am. - 12:00 noon or 1:00 pm. - 4:00 pm.) for Members
- $9.00 per use, morning or afternoon (9:00 am. - 12:00 noon or 1:00 pm. - 4:00 pm) for Non-Members
Tokens must be purchased from the Reception desk at the Strangway Community Centre. When using the Woodworking Shop, please hand the token in to the Woodworking Shop Supervisor.
- $150.65 yearly fee (January to December). Unlimited use of the Woodworking Shop.
- $96.85 half year fee (January to June OR July to December). Unlimited use of the Woodworking Shop.
Please Note: A Woodworking Shop Supervisor must be present at all times the Woodworking Shop is open. There also must be two people in the shop at any time electrical equipment is being used.
