CITY OF SARNIA VOTES

Voting is not only a democratic right, it is also the easiest way to have a say in how your community is governed. When you cast a ballot, you are choosing someone who will represent you!

Municipal government is considered by many to be the most accessible form of government to the electorate.  It is involved in many aspects of our daily lives--from fixing roads, to providing water, from picking up waste and recyclables, to running public transit, from supporting the arts to mapping out economic development. 

Eligible Voters’ in the City of Sarnia will elect the following candidates to serve a four year term beginning on December 1st, 2010.

Mayor (1 to be elected)

City Councillor (4 to be elected)

City and County Councillor (4 to be elected)

Trustee, Lambton-Kent District Public School Board
(3 to be elected representing the City of Sarnia and the Village of Point Edward)

Trustee, St. Clair Catholic District School Board
(2 to be elected representing the City of Sarnia and the Village of Point Edward)

Sufficient nominations were filed for the following offices therefore, the candidates have been acclaimed and no election will be necessary:

Trustee – Conseil Scolaire De District Du Centre-Sud-Quest
(French Language Public School Board)

 Trustee Conseil Scolaire De District Des Écoles Catholiques Du Sud-Ouest
(French Language Separate School Board)
