To receive a ballot for the 2022 Municipal Election, you must be on the Voters’ List.

You are eligible to vote if you are:

  • a Canadian citizen; and
  • at least 18 years old on or before Voting Day, October 24, 2022; and
  • reside in the City of Sarnia; or are the owner or tenant of land in the City of Sarnia, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and
  • not prohibited from voting under any law

You may only vote once regardless of how many properties you own or rent within the City.

Check to see if you are on the Voters’ List

Input your name, date of birth and address in the web tool below to see if you are on the Voters’ List. If you have recently moved, you can try your previous address if your current address does not work.

Add your name to the Voters’ List

If your name is not on the Voters’ List you can add it by downloading and completing the Application to amend the Voters’ List – Form EL15 at the bottom of this page.

Completed applications must be accompanied by identification showing the applicant’s name and qualifying address. A full list of acceptable identification can be found on the last page of the form. Applications can be submitted via the following methods.

In Person:

  • At the City Clerk’s Office, Second Floor, City Hall, 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday;
  • At the Voter Help Centre during the Internet Voting Period (October 14 – 24);
  • At Voting Places on Voting Day (October 24).

By Email:

If applying by email, Voter Information Letters will be mailed via Canada Post Standard Lettermail. Applications by email are not recommended after October 14.
