About the Position

Spend your summer having fun in the sun while keeping our residents and visitors safe!

Lifeguards at Canatara Beach are responsible for maintaining a safe environment by providing necessary supervision, protection, and rescue efforts for beachgoers, in accordance with recognized lifeguarding procedures.

Lifeguards also contribute to ensuring our beaches are clean and safe places for people to enjoy their summer days. Our lifeguards require attention to detail and poise in chaotic situations. Interacting closely with the public requires excellent customer service and public relation skills to handle difficult situations, and the ability to remain alert and calm at all times is essential.  Beach lifeguards are required to be available to work a variety of scheduled shifts, including days, evenings and weekends.

Starting rate of pay: $19.50

Qualifications

  • National Lifeguard – Waterfront
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
