In response to the recent storm, the City of Sarnia has added a brush and yard waste collection next week, September 27 – October 1, on residents’ regular collection day.
For this additional collection there will be no limit on properly contained brush.
Residents are asked to separate yard waste and brush as they are collected by separate trucks. The City’s contractor, Marcotte Disposal, has asked residents where possible, to separate the collection items on each side of the driveway, one side yard waste and the other side brush.
Brush and Yard Waste Collection Set Out Requirements:
- Yard Waste and Brush should be set on the boulevard for collection after 6 p.m. the night before or before 7 a.m. on the designated waste collection day.
- Brush must be tied in bundles with a compostable material (jute or twine) or placed in a container marked on both sides with an ‘X’ and not exceed 22 kg (48 lbs). Brush cannot be in paper bags or piled loosely at the road.
- Yard waste can be set out in paper bags, or a container marked with an ‘X’ and cannot exceed 22 kg (48 lbs).
- Containers must be without a lid, have drainage holes, and marked on two sides with an ‘X’.
