Dec. 20, 2022 – Several City facilities will close during specific periods over the next two weeks during the holiday season.

City Hall

City Hall and administrative offices will close on Dec. 23 at noon, and remain closed until reopening Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.

Sarnia Transit

Sarnia Transit offices will close on Dec. 23 at noon, and remain closed until reopening Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023.

Sarnia Transit will continue to offer bus service through much of the holidays, with no service, or special schedules on some days:

  • Dec. 24 – holiday schedule service until 6:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 25 and 26 – no bus service
  • Dec. 27 to 30 – regular service
  • Dec. 31 – extended New Year’s Eve service until 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 1
  • Jan. 1 – no bus service

The Strangway Centre will close at noon on Dec. 23, and remain closed until reopening on Jan. 3, 2023

Clearwater and Pat Stapleton Arenas holiday hours:

  • Dec. 24 – closed early at 4 p.m.
  • Dec. 25 and 26 – closed
  • Dec. 27 to 30 – open for regular hours
  • Dec. 31 – closed early at 4 p.m.
  • Jan. 1 – closed

Progressive Auto Sales Arena (PASA) holiday hours:

  • Dec. 24 – closed early at 4 p.m.
  • Dec. 25 – closed
  • Dec. 26 – open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Dec. 27 to 30 – open for regular hours
  • Dec. 31 – closed early at 4 p.m.
  • Jan. 1 – open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Holiday Open Skates

Those looking to hit the ice over the holidays can take advantage of free Holiday Open Skates at PASA and Clearwater Arena.

Holiday Open Skates at PASA will take place on Rink 2 on Dec. 27 and 29 from noon to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

At Clearwater Arena, Holiday Open Skates will take place on the Red Rink on Jan. 3 and 5 from noon to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Garbage and recycling collection

Collection of garbage and recycling will continue as normally scheduled over the holiday period.

Christmas tree collection

Christmas tree collection will take place Jan. 9 to 13, 2023. Residents can place their tree, with decorations and stands removed, at the roadside for pickup on their regular collection day.
