The Sarnia Primary Control Group (SPCG) met electronically with staff from Lambton Public Health (LPH) and Point Edward regarding developments related to COVID-19.

Local

The City Hall building remains closed, however staff are available to assist Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by phone (519 332 0330 x. 3131) or email: customerservice@sarnia.ca, and through available Online Services.

City Hall service counters are expected to fully resume for in person services after the expiry of Step Three on Monday, August 16, 2021, unless otherwise directed by the Province or Lambton Public Health, with capacity limited to permit physical distancing of 2 metres. Upon reopening, service will be provided through the first floor Customer Service kiosks, with the second and third floor available to the public by appointment only.

Residents can request an appointment for in-person counter services using the Contact Us Page: https://www.sarnia.ca/comment/. Residents without internet access can reserve a time by calling City Hall. Requests for same-day appointments will be subject to availability.

Lambton Public Health

All eligible individuals are asked to book their first or second dose appointments at any of the local clinics using LPH’s online Registration.Alternatively, eligible residents may book their second dose appointments by contacting LPH’s Vaccine Call Centre from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 226-254-8222.

Provincial Update

The Province is currently in Step 3 of its Roadmap to Reopen. Please view the regulation for the full list of public health and workplace safety measures that need to be followed.

Federal Update

Starting August 9, 2021, Canada plans to begin allowing entry to American citizens and permanent residents, who are currently residing in the United States, and have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entering Canada for non-essential travel.
