The Ontario Government announced today that the province is temporarily moving to a modified Step Two of its Roadmap to Reopen.  Full details of today’s announcement can be found online here.

Step Two of the Provincial Roadmap to Reopen is effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. for at least 21 days (until January 26, 2022), subject to trends in public health and health system indicators.

City Hall will be closed in Step 2, however staff will be available by appointment, as many City Staff will continue working safely from home. Staff are available to assist by contacting Customer Service Staff, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by phone (519 332 0330 x. 3131) or email: customerservice@sarnia.ca, and through available Online Services.

The City has delayed the start of winter registered programming for at least 21 days due to the escalating COVID-19 Omicron situation, in alignment with the Provincial announcement today.

City Arenas will close after January 4th regular scheduled programming. The Winter Session of public skating will take place on January 4 and will then be paused.

Scheduled in person programming set to start on January 4th at the Strangway Centre has been postponed. More information about revised start dates will be provided to registered participants.

Registrations and bookings for open skate, ice rentals and winter programming are suspended temporarily until at least January 26, 2022, while we assess the impact of the new regulations.
