This February’s First Friday will be an opportunity to envision the possibility of a pedestrian street in downtown Sarnia. The public is invited to visit Lochiel Street downtown and share their ideas on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Lochiel Street will be closed to traffic between Front Street and Christina Street and will reopen by 10:00 pm.
Staff will be onsite to facilitate public input. The closed portion of the street will feature programing, illumination, and other potential features of a pedestrian street.
Sarnia residents and business owners will also be able to provide feedback on the City’s public engagement webpage, www.speakupsarnia.ca.
Sarnia City Council endorsed this pedestrian street pilot project at their December 9, 2019 meeting for the purpose of gathering feedback on the concept.
