Nominations for the following positions may be filed with the Clerk or designate from May 2, 2022 to August 18, 2022 during regular business hours, and between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, Nomination Day, for the following offices:

  • Mayor (1 position)
  • City & County Councillor (4 positions)
  • City Councillor (4 positions)
  • Trustee, Lambton Kent District School Board (3 positions)
  • Trustee, St. Clair Catholic District School Board (2 positions)
  • Trustee, Conseil Scolaire Viamonde (1 position)
  • Trustee, Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence (1 position)

Nominations must be on the prescribed ‘Nomination Paper – Form 1‘ and are to be filed with the Clerk, or designate, in person or through an agent at the Clerk’s Office, 2nd Floor, Sarnia City Hall, 255 Christina St. N. The Clerk has not provided for electronic filing of Nomination Papers.

Nominations should be accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200 for the Head of Council and $100 for all other offices. The filing fee is payable to the Corporation of the City of Sarnia by debit, cash, certified cheque, or money order.

Nominations must include 25 endorsement signatures from eligible electors on the prescribed ‘Endorsement of Nomination – Form 2‘ (not required for School Board Trustee Positions).

Original signatures and satisfactory identification demonstrating proof of identity and qualifying address are required.
