At its meeting scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2021, Sarnia City Council will give consideration to the adoption of the amended Closure and Sale of Road Allowances and Laneways Policy.

The amendments to the Policy’s administration include a requirement for applications to contain written consent from adjacent landowners to the stop up, close, and sale of the laneway to the applicant(s). The amended policy also provides clarity on application fees, along with inclusion of a standalone section to address development plans already approved by Council.

A copy of the amended Policy is available for viewing at the City’s community input webpage – https://www.speakupsarnia.ca/amended-closure-and-sale-of-road-allowances-and-laneways-policy.

Questions and comments regarding this policy can be directed to Legal Services, at 519-332-0330, ext. 3333 or by e-mail to legal@sarnia.ca.

Written comments regarding this policy are requested to be submitted no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, October 18, 2021 in order to be included in the final report for Council’s consideration.
