At its meeting scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2021, Sarnia City Council will give consideration to the adoption of the Amended Naming/Renaming of City Property Policy.

To complement the review of the Corporate Sponsorships, Donations, and Advertising Policy, staff committed to undertake a review of the Naming /Renaming Policy. The amended policy will replace the Naming/Re-naming of Streets, Property, Buildings, and Public Land Policy, which has not been revised since 2010. The amendments focus on improving reading comprehension and refining procedures.

This policy establishes the process and criteria to name/rename City property, including naming/renaming City property after an individual or organization.
