Please be advised that virtual public meetings to consider the above-noted applications will be held by Sarnia City Council on:

Proposal: 

Please be advised that the above-noted applications are to amend the City’s Official Plan and Zoning By-law No. 85 of 2002, to permit the development of a new medical centre/clinic (Optometrist) use on the property. The proposed amendments are:

1.  OPA # 32 – is to amend Section 8.1.3.3(2)(c) of the City’s Official; and

2.  Zoning By-law Amendment No 2-2021-85 of 2002 – is to amend the Local Commercial 1 (LC1) Zone by adding a new site-specific “Local Commercial 1-30 (LC1-30)” Zone.

These amendments (if approved) would allow the development to proceed in accordance with an approved Site Plan Development Control Agreement.

Planning Act Information

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the City of Sarnia or County of Lambton to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Sarnia before the Official Plan Amendment is adopted or the Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the City of Sarnia before the Official Plan Amendment is adopted or Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
