Please be advised that a Virtual Public Hearing of Sarnia City Council will be held electronically on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 12:00 Noon to consider the applications listed below, which were submitted by Harry Patrinos – Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (Agent – Wellington Ridge Developments – Heather Martin) respecting property addressed as 1299-1331 Murphy Road as shown on the Area Map.
The proposed amendments are:
a. Official Plan Amendment No. 35 to change the designation of the subject lands from Urban Residential to Apartment Residential; and
b. Zoning By-law Amendment No. 08-2021-85 of 2002 to change the zoning of the subject lands from “Urban Residential 1 (UR1)” to a site-specific “Urban Residential 5 (UR5)’ Zone, with special zone provisions that would permit an apartment dwelling.
The above-noted applications are to permit the development of a six-storey, 46 unit residential apartment building on the site. The existing Greek Orthodox Church and day care centre uses will remain.
If approved the development would proceed in accordance with an approved Site Plan Development Control Agreement.

To ensure your comments are included in the City Council Agenda, comments must be received by 4:30pm, Friday, October 15th, 2021.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the City of Sarnia or County of Lambton to the Ontario Land Tribunal, but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Sarnia before the Official Plan Amendment is adopted and the Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decisions.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of Sarnia before the Official Plan Amendment is adopted and the Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
