The City of Sarnia is conducting an aerial spray program to control European Gypsy Moth (Lymantria Dispar) along the following municipal roads/parks and private owned properties:

• Area Map 1: Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, Newell St, Lakeview Cemetery and Marcin Park; and
• Area Map 2: Canatara Park

Area maps will be posted on the City of Sarnia website and the actual spray dates will be published on the City of Sarnia website, as well as, social media feeds (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) 48 hours prior to spraying.

The aerial spray program, to be carried out by helicopter, will be applying the biological pesticide Foray 48B Biological Insecticide Aqueous Suspension, active ingredient is Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki (Btk), Registration No. 24977 under the Government of Canada’s Pest Control Products Act (S.C. 2002 c. 28).

Application of the pesticide takes approximately 15 Minutes and will occur at approximately 5:30 a.m. Two applications of the pesticide will occur approximately 7 days apart.

Two applications of the pesticide will occur between May 10, 2021 and June 15, 2021. The second application will occur within 5 to 7 days of the first.
