Sarnia City Council will consider a request (ZBA 03-2021-85 of 2002) to Lift the Holding (H) provision from the property. The holding provision was placed on the property by Council through By-law 103 of 2020, to prohibit the development of the subject lands for residential purposes until such time that:

  • boundaries are established for building envelopes for a maximum of four (4) single detached dwellings;
  • that tree preservation, compensation plantings and mitigation measures are provided to the satisfaction of the City; and
  • that all proposed buildings and structures are directed outside of hazard areas.

The removal of the holding zone would allow for the development of four (4) single detached dwelling lots on a public road, subject of the Draft Plan of Subdivision SD1-2021, noted above.

Please note that the hearing by Council to consider the request to remove the holding provisions is NOT a Public Hearing.

Additional information on the proposal is available on Speak Up Sarnia (https://www.speakupsarnia.ca/active-planning-applications) or by contacting Community Services, 3rd Floor, City Hall, anytime during business hours (Tel. 519 332-0330 Ext. 3344); or by email at planning@sarnia.ca.
