The City of Sarnia is working with the consulting team of HM Aero Aviation Consulting and IDEA Inc. to develop a new master plan for the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport. This plan will help guide future development of the airport over the next 20 years.

Public consultations were initiated on Friday, December 17, with the launch of the project page at and two surveys, one for businesses and one for residents, to better understand the community’s air travel needs and priorities.

The survey is open until January 21, 2022.

The public is also invited to attend a virtual open house webinar hosted by HM Aero on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 6:30 PM. The webinar will provide an overview of the Airport Master Plan process and will include a Q&A opportunity.

The webinar is open to the public, but attendees must register to attend through the link provided on the Airport Master Plan project page at or directly through the registration link here.

The Airport Master Plan is scheduled to be completed in March 2022.
