Celebrate Canada Day with the City of Sarnia on July 1, 2026 with a full day of festivities across the community. From the Canada Day Parade and family fun at Canatara Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; to live entertainment and fireworks at Centennial Park from 6 to 10:30 p.m. there is something for everyone!
New this year, we’ve made some additions to our Canatara Park and Centennial Park activities. Canatara Park will feature new attractions including an Interactive Doodle Wall, Top Shot Hockey, a Selfie Station, a Canadian Heritage War Plane on display; and strolling buskers throughout the park. Changes have also been made to onstage entertainment at both parks, with a fresh lineup of local bands at Centennial Park.
Canatara Park
Start the day off at Canatara Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a wide range of attractions for all ages and interests. Check out the annual Canada Day Parade, Handmade Vendor Market, activities on the field, bandshell entertainment and more!
Canada Day Parade
The parade kicks off at 11:30 a.m., starting from the intersection of Colborne Road and Lakeshore Road. The parade heads west on Lakeshore then south on Christina Street before entering Canatara Park at Cathcart Boulevard. The parade continues through the park on Lake Chipican Drive and finishes on Sandy Lane.
Activities on the field
Visit the main field for a variety of family-fun activities and attractions starting at 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. activities including inflatables; face painting / airbrush tattoos; balloon clowns; hula hoop zone; crafts with Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery; top shot hockey; flag strolling (buskers); Canadian Heritage War Plane on display; and an interactive doodle wall.
Info Tent
Stop by the tent for our Selfie Station and Canada Swag Giveaways (tattoos, stickers, and paper flags). You can also respond to our event feedback survey and to learn about general event information.
Multicultural concessions
Stop for a bite of food at any time between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Concessions including an array of Multicultural options will be available.
Bandshell Entertainment
Head over to the bandshell at 12:30 p.m. for live performances and ceremonies.
Bandshell lineup:
- 12 to 1 p.m. – Lambton Concert Band
- 1 p.m. – Opening Ceremonies (National Anthem, speeches from dignitaries, parade winners announced, cupcake giveaway)
- 1:30 to 2 p.m. – Lambton Concert Band
- 2 to 4 p.m. – Multicultural performances
Canatara Park Stage
Enjoy some live entertainment at the stage between 11 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Each performance is 30 minutes in length.
- Bella Magic: 11 to 11:30 a.m.
- Trulee Odd: 11:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
- Corbin the Pirate: 12:20 to 12:50 p.m.
- Bella Magic: 1 to 1:30 p.m.
- Trulee Odd: 1:40 to 2:10 p.m.
- Corbin the Pirate: 2:20 to 2:50 p.m.
- Bella Magic: 3 to 3:30 p.m.
- Trulee Odd: 3:40 to 4 p.m.
Centennial Park
Canada Day with the City of Sarnia continues at Centennial Park on July 1 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with food vendors, busker performances, Extreme Dogs Stunt Dog Show, and the Annual Fireworks Show off the Bay.
Centennial Park Canada Day entertainment
There’s plenty of entertainment in store to enjoy, from buskers strolling throughout the park to the Extreme Dogs Stunt Shows at 6:30 and 8 p.m.
Agora Stage entertainment:
- The Infinite: 6:15 p.m.
- Rumble Fish: 7:15 p.m.
- Brothers Wilde: 8:30 p.m.

Fireworks
We’re lighting up the sky to celebrate Canada. Fireworks over the bay kick off at 10 p.m.
In the instance of inclement weather, fireworks will be rescheduled for 10 p.m. on July 2.
Getting to the celebrations
There are no shortage of ways to get to and from Canada Day festivites.
Cycle into Canada Day
Temporary bike lanes will be installed in select locations as part of the City’s efforts to promote active transportation.
Bike lanes will be in place along Michigan Road from Blackwell to Indian from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Front Street, between London and Exmouth will also be closed to vehicle traffic from 9 a.m. until after the fireworks and will be used for temporary bike lanes allowing people to get to and from Canada Day festivities without needing to park.

Transit
Sarnia Transit will offer special free shuttle services to both Canatara Park and Centennial Park, allowing visitors to park off site.
Shuttles will run between Northgate Terminal and Canatara Park, every half hour, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m. The stop location is just south of Cathcart Boulevard on Christina Street North.

Parking
Parking availability will be limited on Canada Day due to high expected attendance. Visitors are asked to park only in designated areas and to follow all posted signage and restrictions. Attendees are encouraged to consider using the free shuttle services provided by Sarnia Transit, or active transportation when travelling to and from festivities.
Accessibility
Additional temporary accessible parking spaces will be available at Canatara Park. Please note that the road closure from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will be in effect for all vehicles, including those with accessible parking permits, and access beyond the closure will not be permitted during this time.
New this year, the city will be offering a Care-a-Van service on a first come basis from the Northgate terminal to Canatara Park. The stop will be located at the north end of Canatara Park making it more accessible than the regular shuttle.
- Accessible shuttles to Canatara from Northgate
will run between 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with no shuttles between 10:30 a.m. and 1
p.m. to accommodate the parade.
- Shuttles back to Northgate will occur between 1 to 4 p.m
Washrooms
In addition to the public washrooms located within Canatara and Centennial Park, port-a-johns and handwash stations will be available.
Accessible port-a-johns will be available at both locations
