Every year as Christmas approaches, we celebrate the season with lights, crafts, carriage rides, caroling, visits from Santa and more.

Join us for a free celebration of the holiday season with Christmas on the Farm 2025 on Friday, December 5 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 6 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Canatara Park.

Old favourites are back alongside some recently-added attractions to delight all ages including roasting chestnuts; horse and carriage rides; storytime with Mrs. Claus and more! Don’t want to find on-site parking? Sarnia Transit will run a shuttle from Northgate Terminal during the event.

Visit from Santa

Santa will also be stopping by to visit with children in attendance on Saturday, December 6 at 1 p.m.

Cookie giveaway station

Enjoy some holiday cheer with a sweet treat! Stop by the Ted Leaver building and pick up a delicious cookie to celebrate the season

Train rides

Enjoy a ride on the Canatara Choo Choo Train, beautifully decorated for the holiday season!

Storytime with Mrs. Claus

Join Mrs. Claus for festive stories and cozy holiday cheer. Perfect for families and kids of all ages.

Children’s Animal Farm

The Children’s Animal Farm will be open with free admission throughout the event, stop in to catch up with some furry and feathered friends.

Horse and carriage rides

Take a festive horse-drawn carriage ride through Canatara Park and enjoy the holiday charm!

Chestnuts

Stop by and enjoy freshly roasted chestnuts, a cozy seasonal treat that’s perfect for a winter stroll in Canatara Park.

Food and beverage station

Looking for a quick bite? Stop by the Seaway Kiwanis Pavilion to grab a hot dog, popcorn, and a hot beverage. All proceeds support the animal farm and park.

Ice-carving demonstration

Watch a talented artist transform blocks of ice into stunning holiday sculptures!

Sarnia Transit event shuttle

Sarnia Transit will offer a shuttle service for the event, making trips between Canatara Park and Northgate Terminal. Regular fares apply

On December 5 the shuttle will begin service at 4:30 p.m. departing from Northgate. Shuttles will run every half hour with the last departing the Christina Street entrance to Canatara Park at 10:15 p.m.

On December 6 the shuttle will begin service at 8:30 a.m. departing from Northgate. Shuttles will run every half hour with the last departing the Christina Street entrance to Canatara Park at 2:15 p.m.

Road closure

To facilitate Christmas on the Farm, the Park Service Road will be closed west of Lake Chipican Drive on Friday, December 5 at 3 p.m. and reopened Saturday, December 6 at 1:30 p.m.
