Get your costumes ready and join us for a haunting good time at Canatara Park! With free, self-guided haunts for all ages, trick-or-treat stations, and more, Fright Night at Cana-Scare-A-Park is a chance for some Halloween fun the whole family can enjoy.

Where: Canatara Park, main entrance located off Lake Chipican Drive, just west of the animal farm

Event safety

The event occurs in the evening hours, we encourage participants to be aware of the darkness and utilize bright or reflective clothing when selecting costumes.

Self-guided haunts

Make your way through the event route and check out one of several haunted areas and houses. Each will feature a different level of scariness to ensure there is something for everyone.

Haunted area descriptions

Twisted Maze
(1/4 Scare Level) Begin your self-guided haunt with the least scary haunted house, featuring a short maze through family friendly scares and displays!

Witches’ Coven
(Scare Level 1/4) Meet the witches in the Witches’ Coven for glow in the dark temporary tattoos!

Witch’s Hut
(Scare Level 2/4) Try the Witch’s Hut Escape Room. A witch has stolen a priceless family heirloom. Sneak into her mysterious hut, solve the puzzles, recover what she stole, and escape before she returns!

The Clown’s Dressing Room
(Scare Level 2/4) Another spooky escape room to enjoy. The show starts in five minutes — but the clown is missing! Search his dressing room, solve the puzzles, figure out where the clown went and replace him before the show starts.

Graveyard
(Scare Level 2/4) Take a stroll through the graveyard and check out the humorous inscriptions on the gravestones.

Maze of Horrors
(Scare Level 4/4) Enter the Maze of Horrors if you dare! All tricks and no treats, this haunted house will take you through a series of winding hallways featuring jump scares and nightmares come to life.

Monster Mash
(Scare Level 1/4) Join all the monsters in a fun-filled, spooky-themed dance party.

The Bone Collectors
(Scare Level 2/4) Check out the Bone Collectors, three garbage trucks fully decked out for the spooky season.

Pumpkin Alley
(Scare Level 1/4) Take a scare break, and stroll through Pumpkin Alley to take a look at over 200 lit, carved pumpkins, in addition to a live pumpkin carving demonstration!

Trick or treat vendors

Local organizations and businesses will be on site, offering up a Halloween themed activity (trick) alongside a free candy treat.

Goblin Grub food sales

Looking for a quick snack that doesn’t bite back? Stop by Goblin Grub at the Carriage House to grab hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and/or water. Food costs apply.

Park and traffic impacts

Starting October 13 volunteers will begin installing decoration and displays in the area near the Animal Farm for the event. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we get set up for the event.

To facilitate the event the Park Service Road / Catchcart Boulevard west of Lake Chipican Drive will be closed from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on October 24, 2025. Additional accessible parking spaces will be available for the duration of the event at the south end of the open field, near the entrance of the event.

Help us deliver another night of spooky fun for the community as Fright Night at Cana-scare-a Park returns October 24.
