On September 10th, 2016 Sarnians “GRAB YOUR CAMERAS” and capture your life on video.  Sarnians can be part of an extraordinary project which will consist entirely of footage shot by Canadians across the nation on one single day.

In May of 2016 CTV announced it had ordered the two hour event broadcast CANADA IN A DAY from Vancouver-based Screen Siren Pictures to premiere in 2017 in celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary.  Based on the highly successful Life in a Day series of films from Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominee Ridley Scott and Academy Award-winner Kevin Macdonald, CANADA IN A DAY will allow viewers to experience a day in the life of Canada.  Composed entirely of footage shot by Canadians across the nation on a single day, the event special will make its broadcast television debut on CTV.

I encourage all Sarnians to be part of this project which will engage
Canadians from coast to coast in urging them to pick up their smartphones and cameras and share their stories on Filming Day, September 10th, 2016.  This is an opportunity for Sarnians to speak about what the country means to you, what you love, what you fear or what you hope for.  Videos can be absolutely anything from directly addressing the camera and answering one of the above questions, documenting an extraordinary event like a wedding, or something completely ordinary like a tour of your neighbourhood or the preparation of a family meal.  Additional information can be found at https://canadainaday.ca
