March 13, 2026 — Community organizations and business representatives gathered at the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport today to celebrate the launch of a new connection with national and global destinations via the introduction of multi-modal ground-to-air service.

The City, in partnership with Tourism Sarnia-Lambton, was joined by Air Canada and The Landline Company to officially announce service connecting the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport (YZR) to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) via luxury motorcoach beginning June 15, 2026. ­

Passengers will be able to book travel exactly as they would any other connecting flight – simply by searching Sarnia (YZR) to their final destination on aircanada.com creating one seamless itinerary for their ground and air travel.

“This is great news. This service brings renewed terminal activity to the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport, reestablishes our relationship with Air Canada, and strengthens connections for residents of Sarnia-Lambton to Toronto and the world,” said Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley.

The Air Canada motorcoach service, operated by Landline will launch with two round trips daily departing early morning and early afternoon to align with major connecting flights out of YYZ.

Air Canada customers beginning their itinerary in Sarnia will be able to check in, have their bags tagged and obtain boarding passes for all segments of their trip at Chris Hadfield Airport terminal before boarding the motorcoach.

Passengers will travel between Sarnia and Toronto via premium Air Canada branded motorcoach offering spacious 2×1 leather seating, extended legroom, complimentary high-speed satellite Wi-Fi, tray tables and power outlets at every seat. Upon arrival at Toronto Pearson, customers will proceed directly to self-service bag drop, and through security to their onward flights. In the event of coach or flight delays, customers travelling on Landline will be automatically offered the same protections as customers travelling on air-only itineraries.

Bookings can be made immediately for travel June 15,2026 onward. Customers can book by selecting Sarnia (YZR) as their departure or arrival point when searching flights on aircanada.com or on the Air Canada mobile app.
