The City of Sarnia is extending its deepest gratitude to a donor who has granted a generous $25,000 donation to provide improved spaces for play in the community.

The donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, recently made the sizeable donation for improvements to City parks. The donation will add to an existing expenditure of $200,000 for playground improvements included in the 2024 Capital Budget.

The donation will go a long way for children in the community, ensuring they have options to play, grow and thrive for years to come. It’s a tremendous encouragement to all of the staff at the City to see a community member stepping up to support the work they do.

The City has identified Twin Lakes, Coronation, Grace, and Crescent Parks for playground improvements in the year ahead. The funding provided by the donation will be used to support additional improvements at Marcin Park.
