August 26, 2025 — Starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, prospective participants can browse the City’s full fall recreation program lineup, ahead of registration opening on September 16.

New this year, the City is transitioning to a four-season program model. Instead of registration opening for both fall and winter at once — requiring prospective winter participants to book months ahead of the winter programming start — fall and winter sessions will have separate registration dates. The transition will provide greater flexibility for staff in planning programming schedules, in addition to improving the experience of those booking programs.

“We’re streamlining things a bit in terms of how we schedule, but our participants can still count on a full range of wellness, fitness, arts, culture, hobby and technology programs to serve every interest,” said Activities Programmer Mike Neely.

City programs offered primarily through the Strangway Centre, serve about 1,800 to 2,000 participants annually through a lineup of over 85 programs and activities. This fall’s lineup includes several returning favourites like Watercolours and Flow Yoga alongside new offerings such as Voices in Harmony; Dancercise; Italian: Basic; Chair Qi Gong; Pick-up Hockey (50+); and the Facts & Chat series.

The full fall programming lineup can be accessed starting Tuesday, Sept. 2 at www.sarnia.ca/Recreation, except for some organized indoor sports. Details for these programs will be updated ahead of the registration date once locations have been finalized.

Registration opens Sept. 16, 2025 and can be complete online at www.sarnia.ca/RecRegistration; by phone during business hours at 519-332-0656; or in person during business hours at the Strangway Centre or City Hall.
