August 6, 2024 — Those looking to stay active and engaged with City of Sarnia recreation programs can now view the full fall-winter schedule.

With the opening day for registration fast approaching on Aug. 20, prospective program participants can check out the upcoming fall-winter season schedule at www.sarnia.ca/Recreation. Registration for organized indoor sports utilizing school gymnasiums will open on Sept. 10, after locations have been finalized for the season.

The upcoming season runs from Sept. 3, 2024 to March 28, 2025, and includes a number of old favourites alongside some new additions to the program lineup.

New and returning Strangway Centre visitors can expect old favourites like drop-in programs, organized indoor sports, language classes and Tai Chi, in addition to new offerings such as:

  • Social Singers, a multi-genre singing group
  • Pick-Up Hockey
  • Drop-In Art Club, for creative beginner right through to the seasoned artist
  • Leather Carving Advanced Wet Molding

“We’re always looking to provide a diverse set of experiences in our programs that serve a wide range of interests. Whether you’re looking to pick up a new creative exploit, get in shape or just have fun, we have something for you in the fall-winter lineup,” said Activities Programmer Mike Neely.

The City offers upwards of 85 unique recreation programs annually, with an estimated 1,500 to 1,800 participants.
