October 9, 2025 — Families across the City can look forward to some frightful fun at Canatara Park on October 25, 2025 as Fright Night at Cana-Scare-A-Park returns another year.

The Halloween event — hosted in partnership with the Seaway Kiwanis Club — will once again promise plenty of frights and delights with an array of self-guided haunted houses and areas, alongside a host of other spooky entertainment.

“We’re gearing up for another hauntingly good time, so get those costumes ready for the return of Fright Night, our celebration of the Halloween season at Canatara Park,” said City Recreation Coordinator Sean Hanlon.

As in years past the main attraction will be a variety of self guided haunts of varying fright levels. This year’s event will also feature the Marcotte Bone Collector offering the opportunity to climb aboard a spooky garbage truck, trick-or-treat stations, and Pumpkin Alley featuring 200 pumpkins creatively carved by local secondary school and college students.

New this year, guests can challenge themselves in groups of up to seven to find a priceless heirloom and escape the Witch’s Hut Escape Room.

The event, with the exception of food sales, is completely free and runs from 5 to 10 p.m. For full details visit www.sarnia.ca/Events.

Park impacts

Starting October 14 volunteers will begin installing decoration and displays in the area near the Animal Farm for the event. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we get set up for the event.

To facilitate the event the Park Service Road / Catchcart Boulevard west of Lake Chipican Drive will be closed from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on October 25, 2025.
