July 24, 2024 — Children and families looking to connect with community organizations and enjoy a day of free fun can head on over to Canatara Park on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Kids Funfest will return to Canatara Park, on Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Taking place in the open field, the event will continue a tradition of connecting local children and families with local family-oriented programs and services. Community organizations, clubs, and businesses who serve families and children under 13 years old, will be set up in interactive zones offering up information on their services alongside a free activity.

“Local groups are hosting an array of activities to help kids stay active, learn, and foster their creativity. It’s a great day to get out and enjoy the park while learning more about all there is to do for kids in our community,” said Krissy Glavin, Manager, Parks and Recreation.

Activities range from archery to painting to interactive weightlifting to STEM learning to top shot hockey and much more. Visitors can also enjoy live entertainment at the Canatara Park Bandshell including juggling and comedy magic shows.

Businesses, organizations, or clubs that cater to children under 13 and/or families can still sign up to host a booth and activity.
