The City of Sarnia is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Henschel as Manager of Communications.

Henschel will join the City on June 27, 2022, bringing more than a decade of experience in government communications and media, with a focus on municipal operations, to the role.

Since 2019, Henschel has worked with the City of St. Catharines as the organization’s Communications Officer. During that time Henschel has delivered communications strategies contributing to key organizational goals while expanding engagement opportunities for residents with City Hall, capitalizing on new digital communication methods. He possesses a long track record of managing content across web and print plat­forms with a history of award-winning work characterized by accuracy and clarity.

Prior to working with the City of St. Catharines, Henschel was a writer/ photographer with Niagara This Week for nine years.

Henschel holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and Professional Writing from Brock University alongside a Diploma in Print Journalism from Niagara College.
