September 3, 2026 — There is still time to submit nominations to recognize those individuals, organizations and businesses who step up to create a more accessible future for the community.
While nominations are accepted year-round, the deadline for 2026 City of Sarnia Accessibility Award nominations is Sept. 30, 2026.
Now in their 14th year, the awards are hosted by the Sarnia Accessibility Advisory Committee (SAAC)and recognize local accessibility leaders who have gone the extra mile to improve accessibility, inclusivity and awareness for people with disabilities.
“Building an accessible and inclusive community takes all of us, but meaningful progress often begins with individuals and groups who lead by example,” said SAAC Chair Debbie Draganits. “By recognizing these leaders and celebrating their contributions, we hope to inspire others to take action and help create a Sarnia where everyone feels welcome and valued.”
Nominations can be submitted in the following categories:
• Prelude to Excellence for Large Business (30 plus employees)
• Prelude to Excellence for Small Business (less than 30 employees)
• Creating Opportunities for an Accessible Community
