The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is rehabilitating several structures along Hwy 40 at the Lambton Road 22 (London Line) Interchange performing grading, hot mix paving, electrical and structural operations from 0.49km South of London Line to 0.36km North of London Line. This work commenced in May 2023 and will be completed in November 2024.   The General Contractor for this project is McLean Taylor Construction. The Contract Administration is being performed by 4K Engineering Inc. The work is expected to start on May 15, 2023, the Contractor will start by staging existing Hwy 40 Southbound, reduced to a single lane between Hwy 402 and South of London Line.   In addition, the Closure of E-S Ramp (Hwy 40 Southbound access from London Line) starting May 15, 2023; lane closures on London Line will be in place to eliminate access to E-S Ramp.   To provide a safe work area for both the traveling public and construction workers, all structures will be rehabilitated in 2 stages and remain open during construction. The resurfacing of Highway 40 and London Line will be completed in 4 stages, ramp closures are required to complete the work.   2024:
  • Installation of temporary environmental measures.
  • Installation of temporary concrete barrier.
  • Structure rehabilitation of Hwy 40 Northbound and London Line.
  • Removal and replacement of electrical components.
  • Removal and replacement of steel beam guiderail.
  • Milling and Hot mix asphalt paving on Hwy 40 and London Line.
Construction is expected to complete in November 2024.
