July 12, 2024 – The City is continuing ongoing efforts to invest in its infrastructure and facilities, ensuring that taxpayer assets continue to serve residents now and into the future.
In 2024, for the second year running, the City is investing a historic record amount in road resurfacing, with $3.75 million allocated for its road resurfacing budget. This amount is in addition to roads that will be resurfaced as part of larger water / sewer infrastructure projects such as Wellington Combined Sewer Separation and Plank Road Phase III.
The City recognizes there are many roads that could use attention. We target the roads most in need of resurfacing first, while also considering underground infrastructure needs. If a road will require underground infrastructure work in the near future, resurfacing is completed as part of that work. Roads are routinely evaluated, and the list of roads resurfaced in years to come is prone to changes based on budgetary considerations and changing physical conditions.
