April 11, 2024 – The flag in front of City Hall is lowered to half-mast in memory of the late Savo (Steve) Veljaca. Veljaca began his employment with the City of Sarnia in 1980, retiring in 2013. During his employment in Public Works he held a number of positions including labourer, truck driver, heavy equipment operator, water meter installer and reader, and yard loader operator. Veljaca passed away on April 7, 2024 at age 71.
