April 28, 2025 – The flag in front of City Hall is lowered to half-mast today in recognition of the National Day of Mourning, also known as Workers’ Memorial Day. Declared in 1984 by the Canadian Labour Congress, this day is dedicated to remembering and honoring those who have died, been injured, or suffered illness in the workplace. It serves as a reminder of the importance of workplace safety and the need to continue efforts to protect all workers.
