The Canadian Union of Postal workers has initiated a strike on September 25, 2025, impacting Canada Post mail service. If you usually mail payments, applications, registrations or other documents to the City, the mail service disruption could delay or prevent their delivery. October 9, 2025 – The flag in front of City Hall is lowered to half-mast in memory of the late René Leblanc. Leblanc was hired by the City in 1977 and retired in 1996 after 19 years of dedicated service to Sarnia in the Public Works Department. Leblanc passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 88.
