The Canadian Union of Postal workers has initiated a strike on September 25, 2025, impacting Canada Post mail service. If you usually mail payments, applications, registrations or other documents to the City, the mail service disruption could delay or prevent their delivery. September 27, 2025 – The flag in front of City Hall is lowered to half-mast in memory of the late Eldon Kinart. Kinart was hired by the City of Sarnia in August 1954 and retired in April 1988 as a first-class firefighter. Kinart passed away on September 18, 2025 at the age of 97.
