April 4, 2023 — Vidal Street, from Devine Street to Talfourd Street, will be closed for an extended period starting April 11 as the City moves forward with combined sewer separation, new sidewalks and road resurfacing in the area.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
The $2.9 million project is part of $7.8 million the City has budgeted for combined sewer separation (and related road replacement) in 2023, work that will create a more resilient sewer system that is ready for changing climate patterns and reduces inefficient treatment of storm water.
A second phase of the project will see sewer separation and road replacement on Brock Street, from Talfourd Street to Wellington Street later this year.
The City has also budgeted $3.5 million for non-sewer related road rehabilitation in 2023, as we continue work to strengthen and improve infrastructure.
