September 27, 2024 – On Monday, our community will mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It will be an opportunity to recognize the past and ongoing injustices faced by First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, and educate ourselves further. Without understanding we cannot move forward.
As the City honors this important day, several City facilities will be closed on Monday, September 30:
- Sarnia Compost Site
- City Hall
Sarnia Transit buses will be in service, and garbage collection will operate on its regular schedule.
As we mark the day, we encourage all our residents to learn more and involve themselves in the Truth and Reconciliation process.
You can acknowledge and remember those affected by residential schools by participating in Orange Shirt Day, wearing orange on Sept. 30, to create awareness and affirm that every child matters.
