September 10, 2025 — As the City continues a record setting $4.75-million road resurfacing programing 2025, paving work will commence on Finch Drive starting the week of September 15, 2025.
Project Scope
The $766,910 Finch Drive project scope includes replacement of curb and gutter, sidewalks, and asphalt between London Road and Conestoga Drive. The sidewalk will be extended on the east side of Finch Drive to the London Road intersection. The asphalt surface between Conestoga Drive and Wellington Street will be repaved.
New sidewalks, curb and gutter will be installed between Conestoga Drive North and London Line, alongside minor road widening.
The project includes turning lanes at intersections.
Traffic impacts
Finch Drive will be closed to through traffic from London Line to Wellington Street starting as early as September 15, 2025. Work is expected to last until at least the end of October, and all efforts will be made to maintain access for area residences.
We understand the inconvenience of infrastructure work, and appreciate any understanding provided by our residents as we work to revitalize road infrastructure across the community.
Trail impacts
During the first phases of the project the City’s East-West Active Transportation Corridor (also known as the midtown trail), will be closed at Finch Drive.
