August 28, 2024 — To accommodate the Labour Day there will be impacts to several City facilities and services on Monday, September 2, 2024.
The following City facilities will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024:
- City Hall
- The Strangway Centre
- The Sarnia Compost Site
- Sarnia Transit Offices
Transit Service
Buses will not be in service on Monday, September 2, 2024.
Waste Collection
Garbage, recycling and large item collections will not be impacted.

During the holiday closure residents are asked to reach out only in instances of immediate concern such as watermain breaks, animals at large, and dangerous downed trees. Please call 519-332-0330 and follow the prompts.
Report municipal emergencies afterhours, on evenings and weekends by calling 226-472-1150 or 519-332-0330 and pressing ‘1’ to speak to the City’s third-party service provider.
