June 27, 2024 — Recognizing its importance as a crucial piece of the community’s recreational landscape, the City will begin work to revitalize Norm Perry Park in July.
In 2024 the City will invest $200,000 into the facility. Work includes:
- Replacement of the current bleachers that have reached their end of life
- The addition of new bleachers at the east end zone, including accessible seating
- New parking lot curbs and signage
- Installation of bollards around lighting in the parking lot
The work follows repairs to the southern parking lot undertaken this spring.
The City is working with Sports Systems Canada to install the highest-quality bleachers possible at the site. Demolition of the existing bleachers is expected to begin in early July, and replacement of the bleachers is expected to take 30 days (weather dependent).
In total, the project will provide safe, quality seating for approximately 625 spectators.
We appreciate everyone’s patience during the project and apologize for the inconvenience the work may cause.
The City is examining future improvements to the crucial athletic facility through the creation of a master plan for the site, identifying immediate needs for any rehabilitation / replacement of park amenities alongside opportunities for future improvements.
