Notice is hereby given that the County of Lambton is making an application to Sarnia City Council for an exemption to By-Law #144 of 1998. The exemption from the requirements of City of Sarnia Noise By-Law #144 of 1998, as amended, would permit overnight asphalt resurfacing work from Monday to Friday on County Road 25 (Confederation Street, from Sutton Street to Vanier Road) and County Road 29 (Indian Road, from Campbell Street to Kathleen Avenue). Construction will be initiated in early August 2025 and be complete by the end of September 2025. The contractor will be allowed 30 working days to complete the works once nighttime work has commenced.
The nature of the proposed works will include sounds of heavy machinery (backup beeps), asphalt milling and paving operations, manhole and water valve adjustments, curb and gutter repairs as well as line painting. Through the planning for this project the County has recognized, due to high daytime traffic volumes through this dense commercial area, night work will be the most effective way to mitigate traffic delays during peak hours and expedite the completion of the project.
Sarnia City Council will consider the application for an exemption to the requirements of the Noise By-Law at a Public Hearing of City Council, to be held via Zoom at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Anyone who feels they may be adversely affected by such an exemption should contact the City Clerk’s Office at 519-332-0330 ext. 3320 or clerks@sarnia.ca by Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
